ACT Services

The ACT is increasingly popular with students and A-List has expert tutors available to help prepare for the test.  Note that for many students who have prepared for the SAT with us, it only takes a few additional tutoring sessions to transition to the ACT.

Here are some crucial differences between the two tests:

* Timing in general on the ACT is more constrained; for example, in the Math section on the ACT, students have 60 minutes for 60 questions, while on the SAT there are three math sections, with more time allotted per question.

* Some schools (for example, Boston University) will accept the ACT in place of SAT II's.

* The ACT has a "Science Reasoning" section.

* The ACT tests some higher level math concepts, such as Trigonometry.

* Unlike the SAT, the ACT does not have a section that tests vocabulary directly.

* The format of the "English" section on the ACT differs significantly from the "Writing" section on the SAT.
